A distinctive and incomparable collection from “Mighty” Mike McGee, the class clown of spoken word and poetry slam’s geek champion.
“It’s one thing to say that I’m worthy of love, it’s another thing to say that I’m worthy of my own”
“I believe that I’m living my life to the fullest but I have to accept the fact there are others whose lives are much fuller than mine. I will make up for it with my lack of hunger, I will catch up.”
“She is so explosive that volcanoes watch her and learn. Terrorists want to strap her to their chests because she is a cause worth dying for.”

With every collection of poetry (like in short stories) there are some wonderful poems and some not so wonderful poems but that wasn’t the case here. In Search of Midnight contains some of the greatest words that I have ever read. They’re real, raw, hard hitting and wholly unpretentious. More than once I felt myself wishing I can meet the man himself and thank him for the words he shared.
I have read this book about four times since and would probably be reading it again, it’s one thing that never leaves my bedside table.
Recommended to anyone who is interested in poetry.
